I-Kiribati’s Telecom Visits NTA Nearing the end of 2011, former General Manger Tony Muller met with a team of executives from Telecom Services Kiribati Ltd. (TSKL) in a move to exchange technical support between the two companies. Escorted by NTA Technician Rudolph Muller, the team from Kiribati traveled to Ailinglaplap atoll to witness the installment of NTA’s Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) site project. The set-up impressed the team and intrigued them to assess whether or not to join the Marshall Island’s telecommunications authority. If an agreement is signed between the two sides, NTA will be servicing Kiribati’s telecommunications in the near future. TSKL’s trip was funded by the Pacific Islands Telecom Association (PITA). PITA funds telecoms throughout the Pacific each year for purposes which include technical exchange, support, and knowledge.
